Versatilt Channel for Glass Pool Fencing
Versatilt channel is an aluminium channel system for frameless glass pool fencing that lets you adjust the tilt of the glass after it's in place. Patented rotator plates sit inside the channel and friction-fit the glass, so every panel stands plumb even when the slab or deck edge isn't true. Snap-on covers then hide every fixing for a clean, continuous line around your pool.

How Versatilt channel works
Traditional channel installs can be unforgiving when a slab or mounting line isn’t perfectly true. With Versatilt, pressure plates and patented rotator plates sit inside the channel, so you can adjust the tilt of each glass panel and tighten it in place with the Versatilt spanner. The snap-on covers then clip over the channel to hide every fixing. Corners are simple too: you don’t mitre the channel itself. What to order
- Choose the channel kit for your install:
- Face mount kit: 4200mm channel, a full cover, a top cover and a bottom cover, plus 12mm glazing rubbers.
- Deck mount kit: 4200mm channel, two full covers and two top covers (use the ones your layout needs), plus 12mm glazing rubbers.
- Choose your finish: Mill, Satin or Black covers.
- Add 12mm pressure plate kits: at least four per glass panel, no more than 500mm apart along the channel.
- Add the extras:
- End plates for exposed channel ends.
- Alignment pins to join channels in a straight line.
- Top infill rubber between glass panels.
- Stabilising washers for the channel fixings.
- The Versatilt spanner for the pressure plate nuts.
- Add the glass and gate:
- Face mount: 12mm channel glass at 1350mm high, including channel glass hinge panels.
- Deck mount: 12mm glass pool panels at 1200mm high.
- A glass pool gate with self-closing pool gate hinges and a latch.
Pool fence compliance
The Versatilt pool fence system has a Product Technical Statement (PTS) confirming it meets the Deemed-to-Satisfy provisions of the NCC 2022 and AS 1926.1:2024. Compliance depends on installing it exactly to the PTS and the standard, including:- A fence at least 1200mm high above finished ground level.
- No more than 100mm ground clearance, and no gaps over 100mm between panels.
- A 900mm non-climbable zone kept clear of anything that could be used as a foothold.
- Gates that open away from the pool, self-close and self-latch, with the latch at least 1500mm above ground.
- The aluminium channel earthed if it’s within 1.25m of the pool water.
- A stable, structurally sound substrate. Steep slopes, retaining walls or very windy sites may need extra engineering.
Frequently asked questions
Is Versatilt compliant for pool fencing?
Yes. The Versatilt pool fence system is certified to AS 1926.1:2024 when it’s installed to the Product Technical Statement with 12mm toughened glass, compliant gates and latches, and the right heights, gaps and non-climbable zones.
What glass do I need?
12mm Grade A toughened safety glass. Use 1350mm high glass up to 1600mm wide for face mount, or 1200mm high glass up to 2000mm wide for deck mount.
How many pressure plates do I need?
At least four 12mm pressure plate kits per glass panel, spaced no more than 500mm apart along the channel.
Does the channel need to be earthed?
Yes, if it’s installed within 1.25m of the pool water surface. Have a licensed electrician do the earthing.
What can I fix it to?
Concrete, structural steel or structural timber, in face mount or deck mount. The substrate must be structurally sound; fixing details are in the Product Technical Statement, which we can supply for your certifier.
How do I do corners?
You don’t need to mitre the channel. Butt-join the channels at the corner and cut the covers to suit; the covers hide the join.
Can I use it as a balustrade?
No. The pool fence system isn’t rated as a balustrade where the fall is more than 1m. Use Versatilt channel for glass balustrade instead, which has its own engineering certification.
