Designed for Safer, More Reliable Installations
When glass is used in critical applications, reliability matters. That is why these panels are heat soaked after toughening—a process designed to improve confidence by targeting rare internal imperfections that can lead to unexpected breakage.
What Is Heat Soaking and Why Does It Matter?
Heat soaking is performed after the glass has been toughened. The glass is reheated to approximately 280°C in a dedicated heat soak oven and held at temperature for several hours. This process helps identify unstable panels by triggering failures in a controlled environment, rather than during use.
The goal: reduce the risk of spontaneous breakage associated with imperfections such as nickel sulfide inclusions. Any affected panels will fail in the oven, meaning only the more resilient panels progress to supply.
